... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this
evening...

* winds... from the west 35 to 40 mph with a few gusts above 50 mph
possible.

* Timing... through early this evening.

* Impacts... these strong winds will easily blow around unsecured
items. Some wind damage may result. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles along north-south roadways.
The waters of Fort Peck Lake have become choppy and dangerous.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.




Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 2:24 PM MDT May. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 7 PM MDT this
evening...

* impacts: low humidity and strong gusty winds with this cold
front will create the potential for erratic fire behavior.

* Affected area: in northeast mt: fire weather zones 134, 135,
136, 137 and the western half of zone 120.

* Counties affected: in central mt: Fergus. In northeast mt:
Daniels, Garfield, McCone, Petroleum, Phillips, western
Roosevelt, valley.

* Cold front: the cold front pushes through the remainder of
eastern Montana this afternoon. Winds are from the southeast
ahead of the front and from the west behind the front.

* Wind: west 30 to 35 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph.

* Humidity: as low as 13 to 18 percent.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in these
areas of this red flag warning.
