Thursday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Winter
Storm Watch which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through
Thursday afternoon.

* Snow... with 4 to 8 inches accumulation possible.

* Blowing snow... with possible blizzard conditions.

* Freezing rain... is possible.

* Winds... gusting to 50 mph.

* Timing... snow and blowing snow with strong winds are expected to
develop Wednesday afternoon and continue through Thursday
afternoon. Freezing rain is possible Wednesday night and Thursday.

* Impacts... travel and outdoor activities will be difficult.
Blizzard conditions are possible.

... Winter storm expected over the West Coast of Alaska Wednesday
night through Thursday night...

A storm moving north over the Bering Sea Wednesday through
Thursday is expected to bring heavy snow, strong winds and
possible blizzard conditions to much of the West Coast of Alaska
Wednesday night through Thursday night. Freezing rain is possible
from the Seward Peninsula south on Thursday. Storm total snow
falls up up to 8 inches are possible by Thursday night.

Another storm with more heavy snow and strong winds is possible
over West Coast and western interior of Alaska over the weekend.
