... Beach hazards statement in effect through this afternoon...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a beach
hazards statement for elevated surf, which is in effect through
this afternoon.

* Waves and surf... surf will build to 5 to 7 feet.

* Timing... today through early this evening.

* Impacts... dangerous conditions in the surf zone due to elevated
surf along with strong rip currents.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A beach hazards statement is issued when threats such as strong
rip currents... elevated surf heights... minor tidal overflow... or

lifeguard.
