The National Weather Service in Elko Nevada has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
northeastern Lander County in north central Nevada...
Elko County in northeastern Nevada...
northern Eureka County in north central Nevada...

* until 300 PM PST Tuesday

* at 255 PM PST, moderate rains on saturated ground and swollen
streams will cause lowland flooding, flooding of dry washes, and
will cause some streams to flood again through Tuesday afternoon.

The Humboldt River is not expected to flood again but will certainly
rise. If the Humboldt River appears that it will flood, we will
issue further warnings.

If flooding occurs anywhere in the warning area, do not approach it.
Report it to law enforcement and the National Weather Service in

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Elko, West Wendover, Battle Mountain, Carlin, Wells, Charleston,
Beowawe, Jiggs, Currie, Gibbs ranch, Montello, Dunphy, Oasis,
LaMoille, Midas, Clover Valley, Deeth, Ryndon, Tuscarora and
Mountain City.

The National Weather Service in Elko Nevada has issued a

* Flood Warning for urban areas and small streams in...
Humboldt County in northwestern Nevada...
north central Lander County in north central Nevada...
northwestern Elko County in northeastern Nevada...

* until 230 am PST Wednesday

* at 235 am PST, a Pacific flow of moisture is entering western
Humboldt County. Through Tuesday night, flooding can be expected
across Humboldt County and along the Humboldt River west of Battle
Mountain through Humboldt County to the Pershing County line. The
Humboldt River near Winnemucca and Martin Creek in Paradise Valley
are already running high and a substantial amount of rain is
forecast. There will be more rain on high elevation snow as well
that will add to the flood potential. Some areas could receive
over an inch of rain from today through early Wednesday.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Winnemucca, Golconda, Valmy, Kings River Valley, McDermitt, Leonard
creek ranch, Paradise Valley, Orovada, Denio, dufferena, Denio
Summit, Golconda Summit, Summit Lake, onion Reservoir, chimney Dam
Reservoir, Winnemucca Airport, Trenton Canyon mine, Adam Peak,
Thacker Pass and Paradise Hill Summit.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

Issued: 2:02 AM PST Feb. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10 am this morning to
7 PM PST this evening...

* winds... southwest 25 to 35 mph gusting to around 55 mph.

* Timing... winds will increase this morning, reaching advisory
level late this morning. Winds are expected to diminish late
this afternoon and evening.

* Impacts... drivers of vans, campers, trailers, and other high-
profile vehicles should be alert to the danger of these winds,
especially when driving along east to west roads. Secure loose
outdoor objects such as trash cans.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph with gusts
in excess of 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make
driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use
extra caution.
