heavy rain falling across the warned area. Flash flooding is
already occurring.

* The warned area includes portions of The Blue Cut fire burn scar.
Areas in and downhill from the burn scar are most at risk for mud
slides and debris flows.

* Some locations that will likely experience flooding include...
San Bernardino, Fontana, Rialto, I-15 through the Cajon Pass,
Rancho Cucamonga, Muscoy, DeVore, Hwy 138 between I-15 and Hwy 2

heavy rain which will likely cause Urban and Small Stream flooding
in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen
in some areas over the past 3 hours.

* Some locations that will likely experience flooding include...
San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, Temecula, Redlands, Lake Elsinore,
Yucaipa, northwestern Palm Springs, Hwy 243 between Banning and
Idyllwild, Hemet, Mt San Jacinto State Park, Murrieta, Perris,
Highland, Colton, Cathedral City, San Jacinto, Beaumont, Banning,

moderate to heavy rain which will cause minor flooding across
northwest San Bernardino County. Significant ponding of water,
overflowing of poor drainage areas and rapidly running washes will
result in minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Barstow, Fort Irwin, Daggett, I-15 between Victorville and Barstow,
Hwy 247 between Lucerne Valley and Barstow, Owl Canyon campground,
Newberry Springs, Trona, El Mirage, Lenwood, Searles Valley, Nebo

... Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northwest Arizona... southeast California and
southern Nevada... including the following areas... in northwest
Arizona... Lake havasu and Fort Mohave... Lake Mead National
Recreation Area and northwest deserts. In southeast
California... San Bernardino County-upper Colorado River
valley. In southern Nevada... Lake Mead National Recreation
Area.

* Through late tonight

* widespread rainfall and embedded thunderstorms are expected to
develop across much of Mohave County... and areas along the
Colorado River valley this afternoon through tonight. This could
lead to flooding issues across the area.

* The combination of already wet soils and moderate to heavy
rainfall could lead to excessive runoff. Flooding of small
streams... normally dry washes... and low water crossings is
possible. Most likely waterways impacted include the Big Sandy
river... Truxton wash... Sacramento wash... and detrital wash.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop. Check Road
conditions before departing and never drive through flooded
roadways.

Issued: 2:55 PM MST Jan. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 am PST /5 am MST/
Saturday...

* timing... winds are expected to increase later this
afternoon... peak this evening... then decrease early Saturday
morning.

* Winds... south to southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts 35 to 45
mph.

* Impacts... strong winds will create difficult driving
conditions... especially for high-profile vehicles. This
includes Interstate 40 through Mohave County. Loose or
unsecured objects and temporary structures may be blown away
or damaged. Strong winds can also create hazardous boating
conditions due to high wave activity.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Check Road conditions before departing and be prepared for sudden
strong Crosswinds. Use extreme caution on the water and be aware
of wave activity. Secure any loose objects or temporary
structures.
