Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 2:12 PM MDT May. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
rain and snowmelt in...
Custer County in central Idaho...
Blaine County in central Idaho...
northwestern Butte County in southeastern Idaho...

* until 500 PM MDT Monday

* river flows within the central Idaho mountains have mostly leveled
off following the recently colder temperatures. Temperatures will
begin to warm again over the next several days and the rate of
snow melt and runoff will increase. Emergency management officials
continue to report flood problems along the Big Wood River near
Hailey. Flooding is also occurring along Antelope Creek from
grouse toward Darlington and along the big Lost River from Leslie
to the Darlington flats. Many back country roads may still be
inundated with water or washed out and travel in those areas is
not advised.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks. Roads may become
closed due to Road damage. Do not drive around barricades.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
