Special Statement
Issued: 4:12 PM CST Jan. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Locally dense fog possible during the evening and overnight
hours in southeast Illinois and The Purchase area of west
Kentucky...

Given the rainfall that has fallen throughout the day, combined
with very light winds expected most of the night, patchy dense fog
will be possible during the evening and overnight hours across
southeast Illinois and The Purchase area of west Kentucky.

Although coverage of the dense fog is expected to be sparse, sharp
changes in visibility may be possible on area roadways. Be alert
for these changes and drive accordingly.

Use low beam headlights and fog lights, if available. Use turn
signals early enough to allow other drivers to react to Lane
changes in the fog.

Any fog that develops should gradually lift during the early
morning hours, as a warm front works in from the southwest during
the day on Friday.
