Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 3:36 PM CDT Jun. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High rip current risk remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this
evening...
... Coastal flood advisory in effect from 2 am to noon CDT
Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a
coastal flood advisory, which is in effect from 2 am to noon CDT
Sunday.

* Coastal flooding... primarily for Gulf facing beaches from Port
Aransas south to Baffin Bay.

* Timing... for rip currents, through early this evening. For
coastal flooding, from early to late morning Sunday.

* Impacts... strong and potentially life threatening rip currents
will occur along Gulf facing beaches of the middle Texas coast.
The surf will remain dangerous for all levels of swimmers. Minor
tidal overflow will be possible Sunday morning around the time
of high tide and for the remainder of the morning. Some beach
access roads may become flooded and impassable during times of
high tide. High tide at Port Aransas is at 702 am CDT.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
