... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 8 PM MDT this
evening...

* timing... .strongest winds will continue through 7 PM.

* Winds... west winds will have sustained speeds near 40 mph with
gusts between 50 and 60 mph.

a mile over many locations causing dangerous driving

blow down trees and power lines over a few areas. The
combination of strong winds... warm temperatures and low
humidity will cause critical fire weather conditions.

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

through this evening and westerly at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to
40 mph on Thursday.

* Humidity... 9 to 15 percent.

* Highest threat Thursday... lowland locations south and east of a
line from Deming to Alamogordo.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
