Special Statement
Issued: 5:04 AM AKST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Difficult driving conditions possible Friday with warmer
temperatures...

A markedly warmer airmass will move into the area today into
Friday. As the next round of precipitation moves in from the west
on Friday, it will likely bring a mix of rain and snow with a
chance for a quick shot of freezing rain. If any rain were to fall
on frozen surfaces, it will make for very slick conditions.
Precipitation is expected through much of the day Friday, with the
best chance from late morning to mid-afternoon.

There is still a fair amount of uncertainty on how much warm air
will make it in to Anchorage and the Matanuska Valley, so we will
be fine-tuning the forecast through the day. If you are traveling
on Friday, follow forecast updates at weather.Gov/Anchorage.
