Flood Watch / Flood Statement
Issued: 9:54 AM AKDT Jul. 29, 2016 – National Weather Service

... The Flood Advisory has been cancelled for the chena river
upstream of nordale Road...

Water levels along the chena river east of nordale Road has slowly
receded. From the Moose Creek dam downstream the chena river will
also slowly receded as water slowly drains out from behind the dam.

The U.S. Army corps of engineers Alaska district has concluded flood
control operation at the Moose Creek dam. Removal of debris
collected upstream of Moose Creek dam was completed during the flood
event and bailing operations are not anticipated.

Although water levels will slowly receded for this brief period
Friday and Friday night... rainfall amounts of 1.0 to 1.5 inches are
expected by Sunday morning. This additional rainfall with already
saturated ground will cause water levels to rise once again through
weekend. There could potentially be minor flooding expected along
the chena... Chatanika and Tanana river basins over the weekend.
