Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 12:11 PM PST Feb. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Wednesday afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of north Idaho and Washington, including the
following counties, in north Idaho, Benewah, Bonner, Kootenai,
Latah, and Shoshone. In Washington, Adams, Grant, Lincoln,
Pend Oreille, Spokane, and Stevens.

* Through Wednesday afternoon

* mild conditions will produce runoff due to melting snow this
afternoon as temperatures over the southern Idaho Panhandle and
southeast Washington climb into the mid 40s and low 50s. More
widespread precipitation is expected on Tuesday with widespread
rain amounts up to a half inch for the Spokane and Coeur D'Alene
areas. Localized precipitation amounts up to three quarters of
an inch will be possible over the central and southern Idaho
Panhandle on Tuesday.

* Look for rises on creeks and small streams. Field flooding will
likely occur as well in areas that typically flood in the Spring
due to poor drainage.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
