Watches & Warnings

Excessive Heat Warning
Issued: 2:32 PM PDT Jun. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Excessive heat warning in effect from noon Saturday to 9 PM
PDT Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Portland has upgraded the
excessive heat watch to an excessive heat warning, which is in
effect from noon Saturday to 9 PM PDT Sunday.

* Impacts... the elderly, youth, and those without air conditioning
will be vulnerable to the heat. In addition, those working or
exercising outdoors will be at an increased risk of dehydration
and heat-related illnesses.

* High temperatures Saturday and sunday: mid 90s to near 100
degrees

* low temperatures: in the mid to upper 60s Saturday night

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. Drink plenty of fluids,
stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up
on relatives and neighbors. When possible, reschedule strenuous
activities to the morning hours. Know the signs and symptoms of
heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Heat stroke is an emergency,
call 9 1 1.
