... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the western Columbia
River gorge from 8 am this morning to 4 PM PST Friday...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow and freezing rain remains in
effect from 8 am this morning to 4 PM PST Friday.

* Timing... snow will increase late this morning continuing into
the evening. A change over to freezing rain or sleet is
possible by Friday morning... especially closer to Rooster Rock
and Corbett.

* Snow accumulations... 6 to 12 inches... heaviest closer to
Cascade Locks.

* Ice accumulations... one tenth to one quarter inch... heaviest
near the west end.

* Wind... east winds gusting to 55 to 70 mph along the Columbia
River will lead to very cold wind chills... blowing and
drifting snow.

* Impacts... travel will be extremely difficult... with near zero
visibility at times due to blowing and drifting snow. Power
outages are possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
