... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to
noon PST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Winter Weather
Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon
to noon PST Sunday.

* Locations... Snoqualmie Pass... Stevens Pass... Mount Baker and
Mount Rainier.

* Timing... snow will pick up this afternoon and become heavy at
times this evening. Lighter snow will continue through at least
Sunday morning.

* Main impact... 6 to 12 inches of snow at Stevens and Snoqualmie
passes through Sunday morning, and 10 to 16 inches at Mount
Baker and Mount Rainier. Most intense snowfall will occur this
evening.

* Snow level... near 2000 feet from this afternoon through
tonight... then falling to near 1500 feet on Sunday morning.

* Other impacts... travel into and through the Cascades will be
difficult due to snow covered roadways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving.
