Issued: 3:22 PM PST Dec. 10, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect until 4 am PST Monday...

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for snow... which is in effect until 4 am PST Monday.

* Locations... Snoqualmie Pass... Stevens Pass... Mount Baker and
Mount Rainier.

* Timing... snow will pick up for the rest of this afternoon and
become heavy at times this evening. Snow showers will continue
to deposit additional accumulations over the Cascades through
Sunday night.

* Main impact... 12 to 18 inches of snow at Stevens and Snoqualmie
passes through Sunday afternoon... and 15 to 25 inches at Mount
Baker and Mount Rainier. Most intense snowfall will occur this
evening. An additional 6 to 12 inches expected Sunday night.

* Snow level... near 1500 feet through Sunday afternoon... then
falling to near 1000 feet late Sunday night.

* Other impacts... travel into and through the Cascades will be
difficult due to snow covered roadways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and
water N your vehicle in case of an emergency.
