Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 1:27 PM PST Feb. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 10 PM this evening to
10 am PST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow, which is in effect from 10 PM this
evening to 10 am PST Sunday.

* Some affected locations... Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, Bremerton,
Bellevue, Olympia, Bellingham, Friday Harbor.

* Snow accumulations... 1 inch late tonight, then another 1 or 2
inches Sunday morning. Total accumulation 1 to 3 inches. Areas
near sea level will receive little to no accumulation. Higher
hills and inland areas may get up to three inches.

* Snow level... falling to near 300 feet by late tonight. Rising to
1000 feet on Sunday afternoon.

* Main impact... snow will cause slippery and hazardous driving
conditions. Slow down and expect delays if traveling across
the Cascades.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving.

Special Statement
Issued: 4:32 AM PST Feb. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Lowland snow accumulations are possible late tonight and on
Sunday morning...

Snow accumulations appear likely on Sunday morning over some
lowland portions of western Washington. Showers are expected to
pick up tonight, peaking in both coverage and intensity on Sunday
morning. Meanwhile, snow levels will range from about 200 to 400
feet for the entire I-5 corridor and throughout the greater Puget
Sound region around the time of sunrise. This has the potential
to drop 1 to 3 inches of snow on hills above 200 to 400 feet on
Sunday morning. Locally heavier accumulations are possible in the
Everett area and in east Puget Sound lowland communities such as
Enumclaw and Eatonville. Below elevations of about 200 feet
including near the shores of Puget Sound, little if any snow
accumulation is expected.

Temperatures will rise into the lower 40s on Sunday afternoon,
causing morning snow accumulations to start melting quickly.
