... Excessive heat warning remains in effect until 8 PM PDT this
evening...
... Heat advisory remains in effect until 8 PM PDT this evening...

* temperatures... upper 90s to mid 100s in valley locations.

* Locations in the warning include... Medford, Ashland, Grants
Pass, Lost Creek Lake, Glendale, Tri-City and Seiad Valley.

* Locations in the advisory include... Roseburg, Camas Valley,
Powers, Prospect, Steamboat, Yreka, Happy Camp and Weed.

* Impacts... long outdoor exposure will increase chances for heat
related illness, especially for sensitive groups and people
without access to ac. Heat stress possible for livestock with
limited relief from the heat overnight. Area waterways are
running very cold and fast, increasing the risk for
hypothermia and water rescues.

* beat the heat, check the backseat. Never leave people or pets
in vehicles.

* Rivers are dangerously cold and have strong currents. Wear a

* Take plenty of rest breaks in shade or air conditioning.

* Drink water before, during and after activities.

Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 1:44 PM PDT Jun. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to
5 PM PDT Monday for abundant lightning on dry fuels...

* impacts: lightning and dry fine fuels will likely result in new
fire starts. Gusty thunderstorm winds could contribute to fire
spread. Initial attack resources could be overwhelmed and
holdover fires are possible.

* Fuels: while heavy fuel moistures may not be conducive to
significant fire growth, finer fuels are dry and may ignite and
carry fire.

* Thunderstorms: isolated to scattered.

* Timing: thunderstorms over the mountains this afternoon will drift
out over the valleys this evening and tonight. The thunderstorm
threat continues over the valleys into Monday afternoon then
begins to shift east late Monday afternoon.

* Affected area: in southwest or... fire weather zones 620 and 622.

* Counties affected: in southwest or... Curry... Jackson... and
Josephine.
