The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a high wind
watch... which is in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday
afternoon.

* Winds... southeast 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 50 mph possible.

* Locations include... Ashland... Medford... Phoenix... and Talent.

* Impacts... strong winds may make travel difficult on area
roadways... especially for high profile vehicles. Structural
damage... tree damage... and power outages are all possible.

A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous
high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph... or gusts of

... Gale watch remains in effect from Saturday evening through
Sunday morning...

* winds... W wind 15 to 25 kt from this morning through Saturday.
Winds will become southerly 20 to 30 kt with higher gusts Saturday
night.

* Waves... W 15 to 18 feet at around 15 seconds today. Large W
swell building to 25 to 30 feet at around 17 to 18 seconds by
Friday night... and persist through Saturday. Seas will remain
elevated after that.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A hazardous seas warning means hazardous sea conditions are
imminent or occurring. Recreational boaters should remain in
port... or take shelter until waves subside. Commercial vessels
should prepare for rough seas and consider remaining in port or
taking shelter in port until hazardous seas subside.

A gale watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots has significantly increased... but the specific timing
and/or location is still uncertain. It is intended to provide
additional lead time for mariners who may wish to consider
altering their plans.
