... Winter Storm Warning now in effect until 7 PM PST this
evening for the central Willamette Valley including the Salem
Metro area...

The Winter Storm Warning is now in effect until 7 PM PST this
evening.

* Timing... areas of sleet... freezing rain... and spotty snow will
continue this afternoon. Precipitation will change to freezing
drizzle or plain drizzle this evening. Temperatures are expected
to warm above freezing later tonight.

* Snow accumulations... additional spotty snow accumulations of up
to one inch... primarily in Yamhill County. Storm total snowfall
should generally be 2 inches or less.

* Ice accumulations... additional ice accumulations of one to two
tenths of an inch. Storm total ice accumulation generally one
quarter to one third of an inch.

* Impacts... roads will be very slick due to snow and ice...
especially untreated and secondary roads. Sidewalks and bike
paths will also be very slick due to the snow and ice.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. This will make travel
very hazardous or impossible.
