Issued: 6:01 PM PST Dec. 9, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Freezing Rain Advisory now in effect until 4 am PST Saturday
for the greater Portland Metro area and the Greater Vancouver
area...

The Freezing Rain Advisory is now in effect until 4 am PST
Saturday.

* Location... a few areas of freezing rain will continue until late
tonight... with impacts primarily confined to The West Hills and
east Metro area.

* Temperatures... very slowly rising tonight in the lower to middle
30s. Areas near Troutdale and The West Hills may continue to see
some light icing through late tonight.

* Amounts... up to one tenth of an inch of additional
accumulation where temperatures remain below freezing.

* Impacts... snow and ice have made many roads... sidewalks... and
bike paths in the Portland and Vancouver Metro area slick.
As temperatures slowly warm... impacts will become
increasingly confined to The West Hills and areas near the
Columbia Gorge. Travel on untreated roads will continue to
be difficult in these areas into this evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Freezing Rain Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or
freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
