... High surf advisory remains in effect until 6 am HST Saturday...

* surf... 5 to 8 feet.

* Timing... through early Saturday morning.

* Impacts... moderate... expect strong breaking waves, shore
break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming
difficult and dangerous

.Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by
ocean safety officials and exercise caution. Boaters should
expect recreational surfers and body boarders utilizing Harbor
channels to access surfing areas.




310 PM HST Fri Apr 28 2017

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the

* flood advisory for...
the island of Kauai in Kauai County

* until 630 PM HST

* at 310 PM HST, radar indicated numerous moderate to heavy showers
and a few thunderstorms moving over Kauai from the north,
affecting the entire island. Peak rainfall rates near one inch per
hour can be expected in the heavier showers as they move south at
10 to 15 mph.

* This advisory includes the entire island of Kauai.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.


This advisory may need to be extended beyond 630 PM HST if heavy rain
persists.
