Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 3:53 AM PST Feb. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch now in effect until 10 am PST this morning...

The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* a portion of northern California, including the following
areas, central Siskiyou County, north central and southeast
Siskiyou County, south central Siskiyou County, and western
Siskiyou County.

* Until 10 am PST this morning

* the heaviest rain will occur over far western Siskiyou County as
well as southeast of Mount Shasta city.

* Heavy rain combined with mid elevation snow melt will cause
rises in streams and rivers and may cause small streams to
flood. Any thunderstorms that do occur over this area will
greatly increase the flash flood risk due to heavy rainfall
rates.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
