Issued: 4:22 AM PST Feb. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 am PST this
morning above 5000 feet...

* additional snow accumulations... 4 to 8 inches. Up to an
additional foot of snow is expected in the above 5000 feet west
of the Marble Mountain crest.

* Winds... south 20 to 30 mph with higher gusts.

* Elevation... snow levels near 4500 feet will lower to 4000 feet
this morning.

* Locations include... Etna Summit on Sawyers Bar Road and other
high terrain roadways.

* Impacts... roadways above 5000 feet will become snow covered at
times and may become impassable, especially above 5500 feet.

* travel is strongly discouraged because of dangerous conditions.

* If you must travel, keep tire chains, a flashlight, blankets,

Areal Flood Watch

... Flood Watch now in effect until 10 am PST this morning...

The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* a portion of northern California, including the following
areas, central Siskiyou County, north central and southeast
Siskiyou County, south central Siskiyou County, and western
Siskiyou County.

* Until 10 am PST this morning

* the heaviest rain will occur over far western Siskiyou County as
well as southeast of Mount Shasta city.

* Heavy rain combined with mid elevation snow melt will cause
rises in streams and rivers and may cause small streams to
flood. Any thunderstorms that do occur over this area will
greatly increase the flash flood risk due to heavy rainfall
rates.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

* winds... southwest 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 45 kt easing to
10 to 20 kt with gusts around 30 kt.

* Waves... west to southwest 12 to 14 ft.

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.

A hazardous seas warning means hazardous sea conditions are
imminent or occurring. Recreational boaters should remain in
port,or take shelter until waves subside. Commercial vessels
should prepare for rough seas and consider remaining in port or
taking shelter in port until hazardous seas subside.
