... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 am PST Monday...

* timing... periods of heavy snow through Saturday morning with
heaviest snow and gusty winds Friday through Saturday morning.
Heavy snow and strong winds returning Sunday morning, lasting
through Monday morning.

* Locations... Lassen park... Interstate 80 over Donner Pass...
Highway 50 over Echo Summit... Highway 88 over Carson Pass.

* Snow accumulations... 2 to 3 feet of snow above 4000 feet
through Saturday morning with another 2 to 3 feet Saturday
evening through Monday morning.

* Main impact... snow covered roads with chain controls likely.
White out conditions at times with gusty winds especially
today and Sunday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food,

Issued: 8:40 PM PST Jan. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Sacramento River at Ord Ferry.
* From Saturday afternoon to late Saturday night... or until the
warning is cancelled.
* At 7:45 PM Friday the stage was 113.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast to rise to near 114.0 ft late tomorrow morning then
forecast to fluctuate near 114.0 ft thru late tomorrow evening.
* Flood stage 114.0 ft
* monitor stage 110.0 ft
* impact... near 114.0 feet, designated flood stage. Design overflow
level for m&t, 3bs and Goose Lake flood control facilities to
divert flood flows into Butte basin. M&t overflows close River Road
from Ord Ferry Road to Chico Road. Ord Ferry Road is already
closed.
* Impact... near 110.5 feet, head cuts in 3bs Silt Weir start overflow
into Butte basin, flooding dips on Ord Ferry Road west of River
Road. Persistent flows at or above this level increase flooding in
Butte basin. Ord Ferry Road and additional roads in Glenn and
Colusa counties are closed due to flooding.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Sacramento River at Tehama bridge.* At 8:00 PM Friday the stage was 213.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast to rise to near 214.0 ft near this midnight then forecast
to fall below flood stage of 213.0 ft late tomorrow morning then
forecast to recede to near 212.0 ft late tomorrow evening.
* Flood stage 213.0 ft
* monitor stage 210.0 ft
* impact... near 214.0 feet, between two hundred thirteen and two
hundred fourteen feet the County park becomes inaccessible. At two
hundred forteen feet water begins to enter Driftwood RV fishing
resort on East Bank of river and just north of the County park.
* Impact... near 213.0 feet, flood stage - Road inside trailer park and
turn around site under rr tracks (tehama/Vina road) become
impassible. Water is into area around structures on east side of
river. No structural damage. Sheriff's office issues advisory.
Makes sure pelhams Bay, Snug Harbor, river inn (small trailer Parks
all in a row on east side of River North of bridge) know of
advisory.
* Impact... near 210.0 feet, water into RV park on east side of river.
Tires of trailers get wet.
