... Excessive heat watch remains in effect from Monday afternoon
through Thursday evening...

* temperature... high temperatures 100-115 degrees, hottest across
the northern Sacramento Valley in the Redding-Red Bluff area.
Overnight lows in the mid 60s to mid 70s.

* Impacts... long outdoor exposure will increase chances for
heat- related illness, especially for sensitive groups and
people without access to ac. Heat stress possible for
livestock.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat watch means that a prolonged period of hot
temperatures is expected. This may lead to a dangerous situation
in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids,
stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check
up on relatives and neighbors.
