* main impact... chain controls and slick Road conditions. Travel
delays are likely.

* Timing... this evening through Thursday morning.

* Locations... elevations above 5000 feet, including Interstate
80 over Donner Pass and Highway 50 over Echo Summit.

* Snow accumulations... 3 to 6 inches above 5000 feet. Lighter
snow accumulations possible down to 3000 feet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will

*Travel delays due to slick roads and mountain snow. Snow levels
   may start low on Wednesday before rising on Thursday.

*Localized roadway flooding with Leaf clogged drains.

*high confidence in low temperatures.

*High confidence in wetter weather, but low confidence in
   precipitation totals and timing

.Timing and strength...
*coldest night of the stretch tonight. Widespread subfreezing
   temperatures across most of the valley, single digits possible
   over higher terrain.

*System 1: late Wednesday into Thursday. Low snow levels to
   start. Light precipitation totals across the valley, moderate
   precipitation over Sierra.

*System 2: Friday, possible into Saturday. High snow levels.
   Narrow plume of moisture. Some valley locations may miss out on
