Issued: 11:22 AM PST Feb. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in the San Francisco Bay area has
extended the

* Flood Warning for...
southeastern Santa Clara County in northern California...
northwestern San Benito County in central California...

* until 830 PM PST Tuesday

* at 1118 am PST, reporting gauges indicate continued flooding on
the Pacheco creek near Dunneville. At 11:20 am the water level on
the creek near Dunneville has dropped below 11 feet. Flooding
begins around 10 feet. The creek level peaked near 17.7 late
Monday night. The creek is forecast to gradually recede through
the remainder of the morning. Ponding of water across the
floodplain will persist through the day, and for potentially
several days.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lovers Lane, Pacheco creek floodplain, soap/San Felipe Lake,
Frazier Lake, and areas north of Hollister.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

* at 09am Tuesday the stage was 12.9 feet
* record flooding is occurring and record flooding is forecast
* flood stage is 10.0 feet
* the river will continue to fall today and tonight.
* At 12.0 feet... moderate flooding possible along portions of Coyote
creek south of I-880.
* At 10.0 feet... minor localized flooding likely.

The National Weather Service in the San Francisco Bay area has issued
a

* Flood Warning for...
central Santa Clara County in northern California...

* until 1130 am PST Tuesday

* at 1100 PM PST Monday the Coyote creek stream gage at Madrone
below the Anderson Dam was reporting a level of 9.9 feet. Flood
stage at this location is 9.0 feet. Heavy flows from Anderson
Reservoir are expected to persist overnight and flooding will
likely continue along the portion of the Coyote creek below
Anderson Dam into Tuesday morning.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
areas along the Coyote creek between San Jose and Morgan Hill.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
