Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 3:39 PM PST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch in effect through Friday morning...

The National Weather Service San Francisco Bay area has issued a

* Flood Watch for a portion of western California, including the
following areas: Salinas valley.

* Through Friday morning

* ongoing releases from Lake Nacimiento have resulted in
significant rises on the Salinas river. The Monterey County
water agency indicates there is currently no flooding along the
Salinas river. However, continued releases from Lake Nacimiento
may cause further rises on the Salinas river and minor flooding
is possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
