the Merced River at Merced River at Stevinson.
* At 8:00 am Sunday the stage was 70.6 feet
* minor flooding is forecast
* forecast to fluctuate near 71.0 ft thru tomorrow evening.
* Flood stage 71.0 ft
* monitor stage 67.0 ft
* impact... near 70.5 feet, water is up to the maintenance building in
Hagaman Park.
* Impact... near 69.0 feet, the playground area in Hagaman Park along
Highway 165 is flooded.
* Impact... near 65.0 feet, Hagaman Park along Highway 165 begins to
flood.

Areal Flood Watch, Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 5:03 AM PST Feb. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch now in effect from this evening through Tuesday
morning...

The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* a portion of central California, including the following areas,
east central San Joaquin Valley, Mariposa, Madera, and Fresno
County foothills, Sierra Nevada from Tulare County north to
Yosemite National Park below 7000 feet, Tulare County foothills, and
west central San Joaquin Valley below 7000 feet.

* From tonight through Tuesday morning

* an incoming strong storm system will bring a period of excessive
rainfall to central California. The heaviest rainfall will occur
early Monday morning through Monday night.

* The combination of already wet soils and moderate to heavy
rain could lead to excessive runoff. Flooding of small
streams, low water crossings and poor drainage areas will be
possible. Mud and rock slides in areas of higher terrain are
also possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

The National Weather Service in Hanford CA has issued a

* flood advisory for...
a dam floodgate release in...
south central Madera County in central California...
central Fresno County in central California...

* until 430 PM PST Sunday

* abnormally high water releases will continue out of Friant dam
for the next several days with a threat of minor flooding near
and along the San Joaquin River.

* Residents either side of the San Joaquin River in Madera County
and Fresno County should closely monitor water levels and be
prepared to move to higher ground if flooding becomes imminent.
Water levels will remain moderately high along the San Joaquin
River for the next several days or weeks.

* Locations that may experience minor flooding include Lost Lake
park, Wildwood Mobile Home Park, a number of Golf courses along
the river and other points downstream to Biola and Mendota.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

Advisory... which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to midnight
PST Monday night.

* Winds... from the south between 20 and 30 mph with gusts to 45
mph.

* Timing... tonight through Monday night.

* Impacts... downed trees and power lines as well as difficulty
driving. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured object.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 45 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
