... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 10 am PST
Monday...

* accumulations... snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. Up to 2
inches possible at pass level.

* Timing... heaviest snowfall will occur through the evening. Snow
levels will be around 6000 feet this afternoon... then lowering
overnight down to pass level by Monday morning.

* Winds... southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 70 mph.

* Locations... the Grapevine area along Interstate 5... Frazier
Park... Cuddy Valley... Alta Sierra... Tehachapi and Walker Pass.

* Hazard types... winter driving conditions. Blowing snow and
strong winds.

* Impacts... the snowfall will create slippery and snow covered
roadways. Strong winds will lead to blowing snow... reduced
visibility... and scattered power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 PM PST this
evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of central California... including the following
areas... Kern County mountains... Mariposa, Madera, and Fresno
County foothills... Tulare County foothills and Tulare County
mountains.

* Until 10 PM PST this evening

* periods of heavy rain over the lower elevations of the Sierra
foothills and Kern County mountains. Rainfall total amounts of
1 to 2.5 inches will be likely over the west and north facing
mountain slopes. Snow levels are expected to rise today
resulting in additional runoff from snow melt.

* Landslides and Rockslides are very common during intense rain
events and could lead to Road closures.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
