Watches & Warnings

High Wind Warning
Issued: 6:00 AM PST Dec. 3, 2016 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 2 PM PST this
afternoon...

* winds and timing... north to northeast winds 25 to 40 mph with
damaging gusts to 60 mph will continue through early this afternoon
before slowly diminishing.

* Impacts... strong winds can make driving difficult... especially
for drivers of high profile vehicles and vehicles towing
trailers. Winds this strong will down trees and power lines...
and cause property damage as well as power outages. Areas
downwind of the sand fire will also likely experience blowing
dust. Travel will be impacted by the strong winds along
Highway 126 through the Santa Clara River Valley.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means that damaging high winds of 58 mph or
greater are likely or imminent. Secure all loose outdoor
furniture in advance of the onset of strong winds. Monitor the
latest forecasts on NOAA Weather Radio or your favorite media
source.

When driving... use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty
cross winds.

Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 3:25 PM PST Dec. 2, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 6 PM PST Saturday for
wind and low relative humidity for the Ventura valleys and coasts
as well as the San Fernando Valley...

* winds... north to northeast winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 50
mph through Saturday afternoon. Isolated gusts to 60 mph in the
hills.

* Relative humidity... 6 to 12 percent... lowest on Saturday. Poor
overnight recoveries between 15 and 35 percent.

* Impacts... if fire ignition occurs... conditions may be
favorable for extreme fire behavior which would threaten life
and property. Use extra caution with potential ignition
sources.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
create extreme fire behavior. Please advise the appropriate
officials or fire crews in the field of this red flag warning.
