... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM PDT this evening...

* winds and timing... west winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph
will develop later afternoon, then continue through this
evening before diminishing. Winds will be strongest near the
coast.

* Impacts... gusty winds will make driving difficult, especially
for drivers of high profile vehicles. Major roads that will be
affected include highways 101 and Pacific coast Highway.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

When driving, use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty
cross winds.

Issued: 10:09 AM PDT Mar. 30, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Beach hazards statement remains in effect through Friday
afternoon...

* hazards... dangerous rip currents and sneaker waves are expected
on west facing beaches through Friday afternoon due to surf of
3 to 6 feet... locally 7 feet.

* Impacts... there is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip
currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Sneaker
waves can suddenly wash people off of beaches and rock
jetties.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A beach hazards statement is issued when threats such as rip
currents... longshore currents... sneaker waves and other hazards
create life-threatening conditions in the surf zone. Caution
should be used when in or near the water.
