The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
central San Bernardino County in Southern California...

* until 430 PM PDT

* at 125 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across northern portions of the Mojave preserve.
Thunderstorms will likely develop and spread farther southwestward
over time.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cima Road and Mountain Pass. Kelbaker Road is likely to experience
flooding in the next three hours as well with additional
thunderstorm activity.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 500 PM PDT/500 PM
MST/ for southwestern Mohave... eastern San Bernardino and south
central Clark counties...

At 1245 PM PDT/1245 PM MST/, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the warned area.
In California, the most intense storms were scattered across the
Mojave preserve and Chemehuevi Mountains. In Arizona, from Yucca
northeastward to Valentine, with an extensive area of light to
moderate rain north of that line.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
in california: Highway 95 north of Needles, Nipton Road, Ivanpah
Road, Morningstar mine Road, Goffs Road, and National trails
Highway. In arizona: Hackberry Road, dw ranch Road, and
Oatman-Topock Highway.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
