... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 2 PM PST Saturday...

* winds... northeast winds 20 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph.
Isolated gusts of 70 to 80 mph possible through the favored
canyons in the Santa Ana Mountains and on the south slopes of
the San Gabriel Mountains.

* Timing... through Saturday afternoon. Winds will be strongest
after sunrise today through late tonight.

* Location... coastal slopes of the San Bernardino
Mountains... through and below the Cajon and san gorgonio passes
into the inland Empire... the Santa Ana Mountains and
foothills... and the Orange County coastal plain.

* Impacts... hazardous driving conditions... especially in strong
Crosswinds on I-5... I-10... and highways 90... 61... and 210. Tree
damage... minor structural damage and downed power lines possible.

* Outlook... weaker offshore winds Saturday night and Sunday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

... Red flag warning in effect from 6 am to 6 PM PST Saturday for
strong gusty winds and low humidities for the San Bernardino
County coastal foothills and the Cajon Pass...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from 6 am to 6 PM PST Saturday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Wind... north to northeast winds 20 to 40 mph with gusts to 65
mph on the coastal slopes of the mountains and through the Cajon
Pass.

* Humidity... humidity falling to 10 to 15 percent Saturday
afternoon.

* Timing... 6 am Saturday through 6 PM Saturday.

* Outlook... winds will start to weaken and humidity will start to
increase Saturday night into Sunday.

* Impacts... any fires that start may exhibit rapid growth and
extreme fire behavior.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
