... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM PST Saturday...

* winds... southwest to west 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph
and locally 60 mph.

* Timing... through Saturday morning... with strongest winds tonight.

* Location... from the mountain crests east and north to the
deserts... with strongest winds on Desert Mountain slopes and
below passes and canyons.

* Impacts... driving will be dangerous for high-profile vehicles.
Motorists should also be alert for debris.

* Outlook... winds will gradually decrease Saturday... but strong
winds are expected again late Sunday.

this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Small Craft Advisory, Gale Watch
Issued: 2:33 AM PST Jan. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Small Craft Advisory now in effect until 9 am PST Sunday...
... Gale watch in effect from Sunday morning through Sunday
afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
gale watch... which is in effect from Sunday morning through
Sunday afternoon.

* Winds... southwest winds 15 to 25 kt with gusts to 30 kt are
possible when winds are strongest.

* Seas... combined seas of 13 to 16 feet with periods around 17
seconds are possible when waves are largest.

See the coastal waters forecast (cwflox) for more details.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that hazardous sea conditions will
exist for small craft. Inexperienced mariners... especially those
operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these
conditions.

A gale watch is issued when hazardous gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots are probable in the near future... but the specific
timing and/or location is still uncertain. It is intended to
provide additional lead time for mariners who may wish to
consider altering their plans.
