Watches & Warnings

Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 12:24 PM PDT Sep. 25, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 3 PM PDT Monday for
strong winds and low humidity for the mountains of Southern
California...

* winds... areas of northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35
mph... local 20 to 30 mph with isolated gusts 45 to 55 mph along
wind-prone coastal slopes and below canyons.

* Relative humidity... lowest of 6 to 10 percent today with poor
overnight recovery. Lowest of 10 to 20 percent on Monday.

* Outlook... increasing humidity... decreasing wind... and gradual
cooling Tuesday into Wednesday.

* Impacts... any fires that start may exhibit extreme fire behavior
and spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are
either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of strong
wind... low relative humidity... and heat will contribute to extreme
fire behavior.
