Watches & Warnings

Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 10:03 PM PDT Sep. 24, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 3 PM PDT Monday for
strong winds and low humidity for the Riverside and San Diego
County mountains...

* winds... areas of northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35
mph... becoming 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 to 60 mph along
wind-prone coastal slopes Sunday morning into Monday.

* Humidity... lowest of 6 to 10 percent Sunday with poor overnight
recovery... becoming 10 to 20 percent on Monday.

* Outlook... gradual cooling with higher humidity and weaker
winds Tuesday into Wednesday.

* Impacts... any fires that start may exhibit extreme fire
behavior and spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not
recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and heat will contribute
to extreme fire behavior.
