The National Weather Service in Elko Nevada has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
snowmelt in...
southern Elko County in northeastern Nevada for
LaMoille creek...

* until 615 PM PDT Sunday

* at 612 PM PDT, warm temperatures and subsequent snow melt as well
as recent precipitation in the Ruby Mountains will cause LaMoille
creek to go into minor flood stage early Friday morning. Cooler
temperatures across northern Nevada Friday and Saturday should
briefly suppress snow melt causing LaMoille creek to fall below
flood stage over the weekend.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
LaMoille.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

LaMoille creek heights are expected to peak during the morning hours
each day into minor flood stage Friday morning and possibly Saturday
morning. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency
when you can do so safely.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

the Jarbidge River below Jarbidge.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 2:00 PM Thursday the stage was 5.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 5.5 feet.
* Official forecasts are not issued for this location.
* Minor flooding will likely continue through the weekend.
* Impact... at 5.5 feet... flood stage; minor flooding along channel.
Campgrounds may be affected.

Forecast information for
LaMoille creek above LaMoille.
* At 3:00 PM Thursday the stage was 4.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 4.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Impact... at 4.8 feet... flood stage at the powerhouse gage location
in LaMoille Canyon. Minor flooding can occur in the town of
LaMoille. Water can seep into basements near the river.
