Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 1:57 PM PST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 4 am PST Monday...
... Winter Storm Warning is cancelled...

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Winter Weather
Advisory for snow, which is in effect until 4 am PST Monday. The
Winter Storm Warning has been cancelled.

* Timing: bands of moderate rain or a mix of rain and snow in the
valleys will transition to snow late this evening and overnight
behind a cold front.

* Snow accumulations: 2 to 5 inches above 5000 feet. Up to 3
inches possible below 5000 feet.

* Snow levels: 4500 to 5000 feet... falling to valley floors.

* Impacts: expect hazardous travel conditions at times with chain
or snow tire restrictions possible due to slick roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Even light snowfall causes major travel delays, especially during
periods of high traffic volume. Be sure to allow extra time to
reach your destination. Leave extra space between vehicles since
it takes longer to stop on slick roadways.
