Issued: 10:33 AM PDT May. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Walker River near Mason.
* From Wednesday morning until further notice.
* At 10:15 am Monday the stage was 9.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late Wednesday morning and
continue to rise to near 10.8 feet by Friday afternoon.
* Impact... at 10.8 feet... minor flooding of lowlands... pasture and
farmland adjacent to the river throughout the Mason
Valley-Yerington area. Some rural roads flood. Preventative
sandbagging of low structures in Mason and Yerington may be
necessary as river rises... but little flooding occurs. Some minor
flooding of basements and yards in Mason.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Humboldt River near Imlay.
* Until further notice.
* At 12:15 PM Friday the stage was 10.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 10.8 feet by
Tuesday afternoon. Additional rises are likely thereafter.
* Impact... at 10.3 feet... minor flooding of Tungsten Road between the
river and The Pit Taylor canal. The Road is currently passable
with a high clearance vehicle. Some minor low land flooding is
possible very near the river from the Humboldt County line to Rye
Patch. At a higher level access to flying M ranch via old Idaho
stage Road may be impacted.

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 3:42 PM PDT May. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a

* flood advisory for...
snowmelt in...
northern Mono County in northern California...
Douglas County in western Nevada...
southern Lyon County in west central Nevada...

* until 330 PM PDT Friday

* the west Walker River will approach and likely exceed minor flood
stage during the night between Tuesday and Thursday.

* Warming temperatures will produce increased snowmelt runoff and
high flows in area streams and rivers through late this week.
These increased flows will produce additional minor flooding along
the west Walker River and exacerbate already existing minor
flooding in Antelope Valley and the southern end of the Mason
Valley. The highest flows are likely in the evening and overnight
on the west Walker River.

* Flooding of pastures, rural roads and campgrounds is possible
through the west Walker River canyon. Additional flooding of
agricultural areas in Antelope Valley along the west Walker River
is likely along with high water through Smith Valley and Wilson

* Along the east Walker River minor flooding is expected to continue
from above strosnider ditch to the confluence with the west Walker
