Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 7:57 PM MDT Jul. 26, 2016 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
north central Guadalupe County in east central New Mexico...

* until 930 PM MDT

* at 755 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. These storms were located either
side of Interstate 40 just west of Santa Rosa. These storms were
capable of producing 1 to 2 inches of rain per hour. This may
result in minor flooding of County Road 4h... and may also cause
low visibilities along I-40 and portions of Highway 54 southwest of
Santa Rosa. High water flows in Pintada Arroyo are likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Santa Rosa... Pastura... Santa Rosa Lake State Park...
Puerto de Luna and Colonias.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 257 and 278.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.
