... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 6 PM this
evening to 6 PM MDT Wednesday...

* snow accumulations... generally 2 to 6 inches.

* Timing... snow will develop overnight and gradually increase in
intensity early Wednesday morning. Improvement is expected
Wednesday afternoon.

* Winds... increasing northerly winds will peak Wednesday morning
between 15 and 25 mph with occasional gusts to 35 mph. The far
northeast Highlands will see stronger winds with gusts to near
45 mph Wednesday morning.

* Snow levels... around 7500 feet this evening, lowering to between
5000 and 6500 feet overnight.

* Local impacts... snow packed and icy roads along with limited
visibility in snow will create hazardous travel conditions.
More specifically, Interstate 25 between Las Vegas and Raton
and Highway 285 from the Colorado border to south of Tres
Piedras will be impacted.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities.
