Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 1:13 PM MDT Jul. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for...
central Socorro County in central New Mexico...

* until 315 PM MDT.

* At 111 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms over the Magdalena Mountains. This will cause
Arroyo and small stream flooding in the advisory area.

* Flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of central Socorro
County but will affect Water Canyon, Forest roads 235 and 151.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create dangerous flows
in arroyos and over low water crossings. Do not attempt to drive
through these waters. Water in arroyos may travel many miles and take
hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.
