The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 11 am this morning to 8 PM MST
this evening.

* Impacts... winds this strong can make driving difficult...
especially for high profile vehicles. In addition... loose and
unsecured outdoor objects may be blown around. Localized blowing
dust will be possible, especially near loose dry soils. Blowing
dust may briefly reduce visibilities below a mile.

* Timing... gusty winds will develop shortly after 9 am MST this
morning, strengthen by noon MST and persist into this evening.

* Winds... southwest to west winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to near
45 mph in the afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph or greater
are expected in the valleys... or 35 mph or greater above
5000 feet. Higher gusts are also likely. This could make driving
difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra
caution.





Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 2:59 AM MDT Apr. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 8 PM
MST this evening for strong winds... low relative humidity and
high fire danger for northern portions of fire weather zones 150
and 151 including southeast Pinal... north-central and eastern
Pima counties...

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a red flag
warning, which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 8 PM MST
this evening.

* Affected area... the northern portions of fire weather zones 150
and 151 including southeast Pinal, north-central and eastern
Pima counties. This warning includes the Sawmill fire near the
Santa Rita Mountains.

* Timing... the warning is in effect from 2 PM MST this afternoon
through 8 PM MST this evening.

* Winds... sustained 20-foot winds from the southwest 15 to 20 mph
with gusts to 35 mph will begin around 9 am MST. Winds will then
become west 25 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph during the
afternoon hours.

* Relative humidity... expect slightly higher relative humidity
values above 20 percent to persist into the early afternoon
hours... finally dipping into the 12 to 17 percent range during
the mid-afternoon and evening.

* Impacts... the Sawmill fire and any other fires that develop
will have the potential to spread rapidly, especially in areas
with a high dead grass Load.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of the fire weather warning and watch for portions of
Southeast Arizona.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or are expected to develop. A
combination of strong winds... low relative humidity... and dry
vegetation will create the potential for rapid and erratic fire
growth.

field of the red flag warning for portions of Southeast Arizona.
