The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
east central Cochise County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 545 PM MST

* at 508 PM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located 20 miles west of
Rodeo, or basically right over the Chiricahua Mountains moving
west at 10 mph.

Hazard... 60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... expect damage in the area especially to trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Chiricahua Monument, Rucker Canyon and Portal.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground
lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately.
Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Flash Flood Warning
Issued: 4:56 PM MDT Jul. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
east central Cochise County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 800 PM MST

* at 454 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to
two inches of rain fell earlier in the day northwest of Rucker
Canyon with more heavy rain now occurring with over an inch in 15
minutes. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rucker Canyon and possibly kuykendall cut off Rd, E. Rucker Canyon
Rd and along Turkey Creek.

Additional rainfall amounts of an inch or two are possible in the
warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of washes
and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
south central Graham County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 645 PM MST

* at 441 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over Mt Graham over Highway 366 in the vicinity of the
Shannon Campground area. Flash flooding is expected to begin
shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fort Grant, Highway 366 from Treasure Park to twilit and the
gulches and canyons draining from this area.

Additional rainfall amounts of over an inch area are possible in the
warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This warning includes areas in or below a wildfire burn scar.
Rainfall on burned areas can cause increased flash flooding, debris
flows, mud slides, and rock slides. Take action now to protect
yourself from the effects of flash flooding and remember, turn
around, don't drown!
