The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
south central Graham County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 730 PM MST

* at 528 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing rain across Mt Graham including the Frye
fire burn area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mount Graham, Fort Grant and Frye Mesa dam.

Areas affected include the Frye fire burn scar and locations below
it, namely Ash Creek, Frye creek and swift trail Rd (highway 366).

This includes the following streams and drainages... noon creek...
Stockton wash... Frye creek... Jacobson creek... Twilight creek... Gibson
Creek... Ash Creek and marijilda wash.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This warning includes areas in or below a wildfire burn scar.
Rainfall on burned areas can cause increased flash flooding, debris
flows, mud slides, and rock slides. Take action now to protect
yourself from the effects of flash flooding and remember, turn
around, don't drown!

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 715 PM MST for
east central Cochise County...

At 505 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms continuing to produce heavy rain over the southern
Chiricahua Mountains including the Rucker Canyon area. The warned
area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain has fallen and flash flooding
is underway.

Normally dry washes and low water crossings may be inundated in the
following locations...
Rucker Canyon.

This includes the following streams and drainages... pridham creek...
Rucker Canyon... Whitewater Draw and Leslie creek.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

* small stream flood advisory for...
east central Pima County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 745 PM MST

* at 545 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
moderate to heavy rain due to thunderstorms over The Rincon
mountains and Redington pass area. This will cause small stream
flooding in the advisory area.

* Flooding will remain over mainly remote areas of east central Pima
County.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Turkey Creek...
Mescal Arroyo... Deer Creek... Martinez wash... Chimney Rock creek...
Bear Creek... Ash Creek... Paige creek... Agua Caliente wash... Agua
Verde creek... Rincon creek and Tanque Verde wash.

southeastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona...
north central Santa Cruz County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 745 PM MST

* at 438 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms near mining areas west of Green Valley, as well as
Amado and Madera Canyon areas. This will cause urban and small
stream flooding.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Green Valley, Amado, Madera Canyon and Arivaca Junction.

This includes the following streams and drainages... demetrie wash...
sopori wash... Gardner Canyon... Santa Cruz river... Sonoita creek...
Josephine Canyon... Box Canyon Wash... old Junction wash... Cienega
creek and Saucito wash.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of washes
and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well
as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.
