Issued: 4:20 AM PST Jan. 18, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning now in effect until 11 am MST /10 am PST/
Thursday...

* snow amounts... 8 to 15 inches at lower elevations and 1 to 2
feet in the mountains. Areas of freezing rain would lessen
snowfall totals. Amounts will be much lower in southern Malheur
County where snow will mix with or change to freezing rain and
rain.

* Snow levels... valley floors through much of the storm... except
rising to 4500 feet msl in southern Malheur County today.

* Winds... generally southeast 5 to 15 mph... except east 15 to 25
mph with gusts to 35 mph in Baker County resulting in blowing
and drifting snow through this evening.

* Timing... precipitation will taper off from the west late
Thursday morning.

* Impacts... travel hazard due to ice and snow-covered roads.
Reduced visibilities in blowing snow across Baker County.

amounts of snow will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
