The Flood Warning continues for
the Portneuf River at Pocatello.

* At 6:45 PM Tuesday the stage was 8.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. The
river stage is expected to peak at approximately 9.4 feet Wednesday
night around 1100 PM.
* Impact... at 9.4 feet... water will encroach around sitting benches
near the river at the Pacific recycling trailhead.

* Flood Warning for...
rain and snowmelt in...
western Caribou County in southeastern Idaho...
north central Oneida County in southeastern Idaho...
Bannock County in southeastern Idaho...
Power County in southeastern Idaho...
Bingham County in southeastern Idaho...

* until 1215 PM MST Wednesday

* low land flooding is still on-going as reported by emergency
management and local law officials. Additional rain on snow and on
saturated ground as well as windy conditions will create
additional low land flooding this afternoon through the evening. A
cool down Wednesday through most of the weekend will aide to the
slow down of flooding, though it may take some time to see the
full effect.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
eastern Pocatello, Blackfoot, American Falls, McCammon, Lava Hot
Springs, Swanlake, Neeley, Goshen, American Falls Reservoir,
Shelley, Aberdeen, Inkom, Downey, Firth, Arimo, Rockland, rose,
Fort Hall Bannock creek Lodge, Pingree and cold water rest area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

* minor low land flooding is still on-going as reported by emergency
management. Additional rain on snow and on saturated ground as
well as windy conditions will create additional minor low land
flooding this afternoon through the evening. A cool down Wednesday

flooding, though it may take some time to see the full effect.
