Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 4:25 AM MDT Apr. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 PM
MDT Friday...

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow, which is in effect from 6 PM this
evening to 6 PM MDT Friday.

* Timing... rain will change to snow early this evening, with
moderate to heavy snow expected at times through Friday
afternoon.

* Total snow accumulations... 5 to 8 inches.

* Winds/visibility... northeast winds 10 to 20 mph. Visibility will
be reduced to one half mile at times in snow.

* Impacts... travel could become dangerous due to snow covered
roads and low visibility. Heavy snow on fully leafed trees could
cause tree damage, with the possibility of tree branches falling
onto power lines and causing power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
